The ISO Camera Resolution Chart conforms to the ISO-12233:2000 standard, "Photography-Electronic still picture cameras - Resolution measurements". Hyperbolic wedges for resolution evaluation range from 100 - 2000 lines per picture height. Other features include checker patterns, multiple slant-edge lines, a center-focus zone plate and framing marks for 1:1, 4:3, 3:2, and 16:9 aspect ratios.

Common standard specifications

Product NO Multiple Size
NQ-10-50A 0,5X 10x17.8 cm
NQ-10-100A 1X 20x35.6 cm
NQ-10-200A 2X 40x71.1 cm
NQ-10-400A 4X 80x142.2 cm
NQ-10-800A 8X 160x284.4 cm

Paper/ink type: Semi-gloss OR Matte. Matte paper/ink can be used to reduce reflected light, but is slightly less sharp than semi-gloss paper. Semi-gloss paper/ink is recommended for most applications.

Please Note

This chart does not conform to the updated ISO 12233:2014 standard. We recommend thePhotographic ISO 12233:2014 E-SFR chart for testing that does not specifically require the old chart.

FAQs About  ISO Test Charts

Look for dirty or fingerprinted glass along the optical path, recalibrate with standards, and check the set-up for outside light so that it is controlled. If the problems still exist, please reach out to the helpdesk or book a service with your professional service.

Many people might answer "with the human eye", but this is actually not comprehensive. The human eye cannot accurately distinguish the colors of similar objects. Furthermore, everyone's perception of color varies. Therefore, people have developed color measurement tools based on the CIE color system.

Currently, there are two main types of commonly used colorimeters, as follows:

Colorimeter - It is an ideal choice for quality control (QC) on production lines, used to detect color differences.

Spectrophotometer - It is suitable for the development of color characteristics and color analysis in laboratories.

Record the L*a*b values of the sample and the reference with a calibrated spectrophotometer or colorimeter. Compute the difference in the color by use of ΔE. The lower the Delta E, the more accurate the result. The difference in energy, ΔE < 1, is generally assumed to be invisible to the eye.

A colorimeter is used to measure the intensity of color of a solution by measuring its absorbance at selected wavelengths of light. It is widely applied in chemistry, food, pharmaceuticals, and quality control to determine concentration, track color changes, or product uniformity.

In the study of chemical reactions, calorimetry deals with changes in heat (energy and enthalpy). Spectrophotometry is the measurement of the light absorbance or light transmittance to determine the concentration or color of a solution. The first one monitors the thermal processes, whereas the second one addresses the aspects of light and color.

Make sure the light sources are calibrated, keep extraneous light sources away, have the correct viewing angles, and handle the samples in a clean and uniform manner.
