3nh Multi-directional spectrophotometer MS3005 is used to measure the color difference for the surface paint which is affected by different viewing angles and viewing conditions. It can provide accurate and consistent color measurement for metalllics, pearlescents and other complex special effect finished products.

MS3005 multi-angle spectrophotometer adopts industrial-grade MCU and is equipped with 5 measuring angles, under the superior performance of the optical measurement system supported by MS3005 multi-angle spectrophotometer has excellent performance in multi-angle chromatic aberration measurement, even in the curved surface, but also has a high measurement accuracy and stability.

Measurement Accuracy (dE/ΔE): The smaller the value, the higher the match between the color measured by the colorimeter instrument and human visual perception. Generally, dE < 1.0 is regarded as the industrial passing line, while dE < 0.5 falls into the high-precision level. 

Measurement Structure: D/8 (integrating sphere structure) is the universal standard, which includes two modes: SCI (Specular Component Included, with specular reflection light) and SCE (Specular Component Excluded, excluding specular reflection light). 45/0 (ring illumination) simulates the human eye's viewing angle and is more suitable for judging reflective materials. 

Repeatability: It refers to the difference in color results when measuring the same point multiple times. The equipment can achieve ΔE < 0.08, ensuring highly reliable measurement results. 

Illumination Source and Viewing Angle: It is recommended to choose the combination of CIE standard light source D65 (simulating daylight) and a 10° viewing angle. 

Application Scenario Requirements: It is necessary to clarify the purchase purpose (quality inspection? R&D? material evaluation?) and the usage environment (laboratory, workshop or field work?).


Coating thickness is best measured with a coating thickness gauge specific for the type of substrate. Magnetic and eddy gauges are best for metals while ultrasonic gauges are best for non-metals. These devices provide measurement accuracy and consistency.

D65, TL84, A light, CWF, and UV are the most common standardized sources used for precise color matching.

b. If the USB cable is connected well but the interface still displays "USB Disconnect", please re-start the colorimeter and enter "Menu" -"Comm"to start the communication.
