HNG268 is a portable gloss meter with a horizontal design that makes it easy to measure flat or large samples. This type of gloss meter is independently developed by 3nh, with independent intellectual property. Manufactured according to International standard ISO2813and Chinesestandard GB/T 9754,it is the world's first full large touch screen gloss meter. With GQC6 PC software, gloss measurement is more convenient to use. Stable performance and high accuracy measurement makes it very popular all over the world.

NHG268 gloss meter features with 20, 60 and 85° angle, manufactured according to ISO2813 and GB/T 9754. It is also compatible with the standards of ASTM D523, ASTM D2457. NHG268 conforms to JJG696 first class gloss meter working requirement, corresponding with CIE 1931(2°) under CIE C light source.

 

NHG268 gloss meter can test material with high gloss (0-2000Gu), and universally apply to paint, ink, stoving varnish, coating, wood products; marble, granite, vitrified polished tile, pottery brick and porcelain; plastic, paper; hardware industries, etc. for gloss measurement and gloss data transmission.

There is no generic mathematical formula for gloss value. Rather, it is measured directly with a gloss meter, which compares how strongly reflected light from a sample matches a standard (typically black glass with a known reflectance).


The gloss meter is used to measure gloss at typical angles (typically 20°, 60°, or 85°). The instrument illuminates the material and measures the amount of light reflected and states the outcome in gloss units (GU), which is related to perceived brilliance.


 A gloss meter measures the amount of light reflected from a surface at a specific angle. It's commonly used to assess surface finishes such as paint, coatings, plastics, and paper for consistency, quality control, and visual appearance evaluation.


The gloss meter is used to measure the gloss level: it is a device that directs the light at a fixed angle and reads the intensity of the reflected light. The angles, such as 60°, 20°, or 85°, are applied depending on the type of surface and the range of gloss.


Smooth and uniform surfaces with a large amount of reflected light directly result in high gloss. Some of the factors are the smoothness of the surface, the type of paint that is being used, the thickness of the coating, and curing. The lesser the surface irregularities, the greater the gloss.
