SFRplus Large LVT Film Chart

This SFRplus Large LVT Film Chart Instrument are Certified with

1 Years Warranty (Additional support period of 3 years)

This transmissive (backlit) SFRplus test chart can be used with the Imatest SFRplus module to measure MTF, lateral chromatic aberration, distortion, and tonal response. The SFRplus module features fully automated region-of-interest detection.
The SFRplus chart offers significant advantages over commonly used charts such as the ISO 12233 chart, including

  1.  much less wasted area,
  2. the ability to produce a map of sharpness over the sensor surface,
  3. better measurement accuracy due to the lower contrast, and
  4. full support for automated testing.

Size

This chart has an active chart area of 48.3 cm x 26.81 cm (19 in x 10.56 in) in a total film size of 30.48 cm x 50.8 cm (12 in x 20 in). Bar-to-bar height is 252 mm (9.92 in).

This chart is produced with a high-precision, black and white, LVT film recording process for the best possible density range, low noise, and fine detail. The edges have an MTF50 >= 10 cycles/mm, which is about 2 times better than the best inkjet charts. For more information please take a look at our transmissive chart quality comparison! The large patterns are fine enough to produce good results with up to 30 megapixel cameras.

FAQs About  SFRPlus Test Charts

A colorimeter sends light through a solution and measures the amount that is absorbed. It computes the absorbance by comparing the intensity of light before and after passing through. The greater the concentration of the color, the greater is the absorption of the light. It is also possible to quantify the color of the solution.

The principle of colorimetry is the law of Beer-Lambert, which says that the intensity of light absorbed by a colored solution is proportional to the concentration of the absorbing species and the path length. It measures the extent of light that is absorbed at certain wavelengths.

Zero calibration of a hazemeter is a critical pre-measurement procedure to ensure the instrument’s accuracy by resetting its baseline to "zero" when no haze or light attenuation is present.

  1. Align the hazemeter’s measurement window with air or a black background, ensuring no objects block the window.

  2. Press the hazemeter’s zero calibration button and wait for the instrument to complete automatic calibration. At this point, the instrument should display a zero haze value and a zero light transmittance value.

  3. Observe the instrument’s display to confirm the zero calibration result stabilizes near zero. If the zero calibration is inaccurate, repeat the above steps multiple times until the displayed haze and light transmittance values stabilize near zero.

Perform 0-degree calibration before testing, this eliminates inherent instrument drift, environmental interference, or residual signal errors, ensuring subsequent measurements of transparent/translucent samples (e.g., plastic films, pvc, glass, coating, displays and cosmetic packaging) are reliable. Correct for minor instrument deviations caused by long-term use, temperature changes, or power fluctuations.

They provide accurate and repeatable assessments of color in various settings for the purpose of avoiding inconsistencies in mismatched items and ensuring steady production or branding.

The haze meter test assesses the degree of light scattering that occurs when light traverses a transparent or translucent material, producing a percentage that quantifies example or cloudiness.

D/8° and 45°/0° are two different illumination methods with distinct optical geometries. The D/8° illumination is suitable for general industries, and delivers better performance in color difference comparison and color measurement especially for high-gloss products. For the packaging and printing industry, the 45°/0° illumination is recommended.

D/8° (Diffuse / 8° viewing)

Recommended for:
  • Plastic, paint, ink, ceramic, textile, coating

  • Samples with metallic luster, pearlescent, glitter, or texture

  • Situations requiring consistent data with laboratory spectrophotometers

  • Applications needing SCI (including specular reflection) / SCE (excluding specular reflection) switching

45°/0° (45° annular illumination / 0° viewing)

Recommended for:
  • Printing, packaging, paper, ink, matte non-metallic materials

  • Products focusing on human eye direct visual matching

  • Standard color matching in printing & packaging industry

Simple Selection Guide

  • With metallic/pearlescent/glitter effect → choose D/8°

  • Printing, paper, packaging, matte products → choose 45°/0°

  • Want universal use for multiple materials → choose D/8°
