FAQs About  ISO Test Charts

There are many factors that can influence accuracy such as surface roughness, temperature, substrate material, and calibration settings. For ferrous metals, external magnetic fields can also distort measurements. Proper calibration and preparation will help reduce the impact of these factors.

They provide accurate and repeatable assessments of color in various settings for the purpose of avoiding inconsistencies in mismatched items and ensuring steady production or branding.

SCI&SCE are two method in the color measurement. SCI means Specular Component Include,SCE means Specular Component Exclude.

Under the method of SCE, only test diffuse refection and exclude specular reflection. In that way, the test result is similar to object color was observed by human eyes.

Under the method SCI, both the diffuse refection and specular reflection will be included. In that way, the value about the color is more objective. It will not effect by the environment condition.

When we choose the instrument, those elements should be taking into consideration.

a. Users must specify Standard File Name, Sample File Name and Sample Database File Name when first use.

b.Standard File is use to store standard measurement data. Sample File is used to store sample measurement data. Sample Database File is used to store the measured data exported from sample records.

Colorimeter calibration is indispensable for reliable quality control—ensuring measurement accuracy by compensating for component aging, environmental interference, and baseline drift. It standardizes data across devices/batches, maintains compliance with industry standards, and prevents costly rework from inaccurate color readings, making it critical for precision-driven industries like printing, food, plastics, textiles, paint and coatings.

Ambient light, heat, and moisture levels should be regulated. The use of colored walls and reflective surfaces should be avoided, as they can damage the assessment of the sample colors visually.
