YS4580 Plus spectrophotometer uses 45/0 (45 degree ring illumination, 0 degree reception) geometric optical structure in accordance with CIE No. 15 and adopts concave grating spectrometry to accurately measure sample reflectance and various colorimetric data; Equipped with a large measuring aperture of Φ20 mm for traffic signs, color matching, precise color transfer;Built-in GB2893, GB/T18833 standard color, can be manually customized polygonal rectangle tolerance, one button to realize the measurement of traffic road signs, marking lines, reflective film brightness factor and chromaticity coordinates. For uneven sample with stripes or granular samples, the instrument has high accuracy and high stability.

3nh 45/0 Spectrophotometers 

The 45/0 geometry spectrophotometer measures color by illuminating the sample at a 45-degree angle and capturing the reflected light at 0 degrees, perpendicular to the sample. This setup closely mimics how human eyes perceive color, making it ideal for evaluating the color as it appears in real-world conditions.  In a “fixed geometry” or “single angle” device, the first number is the starting point of the light, and the second number is where the light ends up after the reflection off the surface of the sample. In a 45:0, the light source is set at 45-degrees and the detectors are set directly overhead at 0-degrees.

When to Use 45/0 measurement: 

  • Smooth and Matte Surfaces: Particularly suitable for smooth and matte surfaces, where surface texture and gloss do not significantly affect the color perception.

  • Packaging and Printed Materials: Often used in industries where the final appearance to the consumer is critical, such as packaging and printed media.

For color measurement exclusively on smooth object surfaces, a color difference meter with a 45°/0° or 0°/45° geometry can be selected. This angular configuration most closely mimics the way the human eye perceives objects; therefore, the color information it measures aligns most closely with human visual observations.
